About Us

Our Story

The image above is the Dr. Dave Band live at Van Wezel Performing Arts Center in Sarasota, Fl. The Dr. Dave Band is a high-energy "good-time" country music and classic rock band that knows how to turn on a crowd. The band has received 6 First Place Community Choice Awards for "Best Live Music Band." In the band's show, the "Dr." plays guitar, electric fiddle, and banjo. Dr. Dave describes the music as "Kick-Grass Country Rock." Picture country rock on steroids with an infusion of bluegrass fiddle and banjo. Picture the performance as a cross between Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean, Charlie Daniels, and Earl Scruggs. The band rocks with George Routh on guitar, Cosmo on drums and Ted Fordney on bass. The DDB has been featured at major festivals, fairs, corporate events and clubs. The band has performed with national acts including Styx, Dave Mason, Trace Adkins, John Fogerty, the Outlaws, Rick Derringer, Charlie Daniels and the Marshall Tucker Band. What Inspires Us?

Very Simple...... Bringing smiles to faces and happiness to hearts. Dr. Dave remembers a time when he tried to quit music to have more time for other things. He says "I quit music, but it didn't quit me." "I found I needed it because it moves my soul and it gives me the chance to make people happy. If you have been blessed with the ability to make people happy through music, you just can't pass on that." He says, all the guys in the band just "LOVE" to play.

Kick-Grass Country Rock

Drummer,"Cosmo", puts the "Kick" in the "Kick-Grass" and Dr. Dave adds the "Grass" with his electric fiddle and banjo. George Routh puts the "Rock" in the "Country Rock" and Ted Fordney on bass creates the solid foundation for this dynamic live band.
